Nick Psaki, principal system engineer at Pure Storage, wrote in a GCN article published Monday that agencies seeking to make data widely available through data democratization should implement a data-centric architecture that brings together on-premises and cloud applications.

Psaki discussed the attributes of a data-centric architecture, including its capability to accelerate delivery of shared data, support automation and on-demand consumption, protect sensitive data and enable hybrid use cases for app development, protection and deployment.

He noted that a data-centric architecture brings about analytics, artificial intelligence and other new use cases as well as drives application compatibility.

“This compatibility should make migration of applications and security easy, giving users the freedom to run applications where they want and have the data safely follow,” Psaki added.
