The Department of Veterans Affairs plans to issue a contract for the development of a technology platform intended to manage accounting functions and update telecommunication services at the VA.
VA issued a solicitation on Monday via FedBizOpps for the enterprise Telecommunications Expense Management Solution contract seeking a fully automated and web-based software-as-a-service system that will work to help officials monitor the agency’s telecom expenses.
“This solution will additionally standardize service ordering and delivery, streamline invoice and payment processing, enforce corporate policies and provide customizable reporting and business analytics,” VA said in the document.
The eTEMS program comes as part of VA’s preparation to transition its telecommunication modernization efforts to General Services Administration’s $50B Enterprise Infrastructure Services program by end of September.
The single-award contract will have a one-year base period and 14 optional one-year extensions.
The system should integrate with the ServiceNow platform that helps VA manage its information technology services.
Interested parties can submit questions to VA through May 20. The agency plans to close bids by June 3.
