American Systems will be sponsoring logistics requirements of the students of the University of Texas at San Antonio for them to be able to take part in cyber contests nationwide.
It will provide this support as an inaugural platinum sponsor for UTSA students, the company said Tuesday.
The National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security awarded three Center of Academic Excellence recognitions to UTSA for information assurance and cyber defense education efforts.
“We are proud to help shape tomorrow’s leaders in this critical field—we know what’s at stake,” said Peter Smith, president and CEO at American Systems.
Gerry Sanders, Dean and Bodenstedt Chair of the UTSA College of Business, thanked American Systems for their support.
“Our students’ educational experience has been enhanced thanks to the support of friends like you, who have provided financial contributions so that we may offer exceptional programs and professional development opportunities as they prepare to follow their career aspirations in the cyber security and data analytics fields.”
The company is also a member of the university’s cyber and analytics board of advisors.
