Boeing and Norway-based defense company Nammo have signed a 25-year agreement to conduct joint development work on artillery system offerings for the U.S. and Norwegian governments, Defence Blog reported Thursday.

The two companies plan to build long-range projectiles at Nammo's Rauffoss location and Boeing's St. Charles, Mo., research site through the partnership.

Maria Laine, vice president of international strategic partnerships for Boeing's defense, space and security segment, said the company aims to establish "a best in class industry team that will deliver operational capability and industrial value to both countries.“

The agreement builds on Boeing's prior P-8A Poseidon aircraft program to support the Norwegian military.
