Brian Burwell, former vice president at IBM Watson Health’s federal government group, has joined Ventech Solutions to serve as its inaugural vice president of healthcare policy and research.
He will spearhead efforts to expand Ventech Solutions’ activity in both the private and public sectors, the company said Tuesday.
Experienced in Medicaid financing for long-term services and support, Burwell first became a member of the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission, which works to advise Congress regarding Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program, in 2015 and has been granted a second term.
At IBM Watson Health, he managed multiple state and federal contracts for research, evaluation, systems development and technical assistance services. Burwell has also authored over 70 articles and treatises on technical topics.
