Microsoft received a two-year, $25.4M contract modification from the U.S. Air Force to continue experimentation activities for a data and voice network designed to enable remote access to information from the Department of Defense facilities.

The modification increases the total value of a $34.4M other transaction agreement awarded last year to $59.7M and extends Microsoft’s phase one and two commercial network-as-a-service operations, the Pentagon said Friday.

Work under the modification will take place at Air Force bases in New Mexico, Florida and Alabama through Sept. 30, 2021.

The Air Force will obligate the full amount in fiscal 2019 operations and maintenance funds at the time of the award.
