The Department of Health and Human Services has included global business advisory firm EY in its potential five-year, $49M contract to provide a range of intelligent automation and artificial intelligence services and technologies.

EY's U.S. government and public sector practice will compete for orders that cover rapid prototyping activities for IAAI capabilities intended to assist in the Health and Human Services Program Support Center's operations, the company said Wednesday.

The firm plans to leverage its digital and emerging technologies services to develop tools that implement concepts such as robotic process automation, blockchain, natural language processing, machine learning and AI to improve customer experience and simplify the HHS support center's digital operations.

Mike Herrinton, a partner and leader of EY's U.S. government and public sector arm, said the company is looking forward to deploying its IAAI expertise to “help agencies unlock the potential of their data and assets, and change the way customers interact with the government.“

HHS announced in May its selection of contractors for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity award which include General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman, Leidos, Accenture and Booz Allen Hamilton.
