The International Society of Automation has inducted Honeywell to a cybersecurity consortium composed of government agencies and technology providers.

According to a Honeywell press release published Thursday, the Global Cybersecurity Alliance seeks to spread awareness and speed up the development of cybersecurity approaches through the dissemination of best practices.

In addition, Honeywell will also serve as an inaugural member of the ISA Security Compliance Institute, a facility that manages the International Electrotechnical Commission’s ISA/IEC 62443 industrial technology certification.

“The entire industry and connected world at large needs to operate with the confidence that our digital infrastructure is robust and secure, whether it’s utilities or facilities and even specific products we use everyday,” said Matthew Bohne, vice president and chief product security officer at Honeywell’s building technologies business.
