Spacecraft software creator Kubos, has partnered with Swiss firm Ruag Space to provide constellation developers with ready-to-use satellite computer systems, Space News reported Thursday.

Kubos’ open source operating system will work with Ruag Space’s hardware to help developers address satellite computing needs. Peter Guggenbach, CEO at Ruag Space, said the industry needs to produce working systems at scales and costs that accommodate mega-constellations.

“To accomplish this requires strategic partners, particularly in software,” he said in a statement. Kubos and Ruag Space will sign a formal agreement for the partnership at a small satellite conference on Aug. 5 in Utah.
