L3Harris Technologies has received a five-year, $33.1M contract from the U.S. Navy to supply microwave tubes for integration with AN/SPY-1 radar systems of destroyer and cruiser ships equipped with the Aegis Combat System.

The company will manufacture, engineer and repair crossed-field amplifiers for the air and surface radars used on board vessels of the Navy’s Arleigh Burke and Ticonderoga classes, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

Work under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract will take place in Williamsport, Pa, through August 2024. The service branch will obligate $2.2M at the time of award and nearly $729,000 of the obligated funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

The Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane, Ind., is the contracting activity for the restricted competition procurement effort. DoD noted the IDIQ contains cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-priced items.
