Federal Resources has partnered with Synapse Technology to support, market and distribute the latter’s artificial intelligence-based software security tool to government customers. The Syntech ONE platform is designed to help X-ray scanners automate the detection of prohibited items including knives, guns and ammunition, Synapse said Tuesday.

According to Synapse, the technology has processed over 17M passenger bags and has been honored by the Department of Homeland Security with the SAFETY Act award. In addition, the company has secured a contract from the U.S. Air Force to study the incorporation of Syntech ONE platforms into improvised explosive detectors at base security checkpoints.

“As we further build our federal customer relationships, Federal Resources puts us in the perfect position to deploy Synapse Technology throughout the United States government,” said Ian Cinnamon, president at Synapse.
