Analytical Space announced on Tuesday that Robert Cardillo, former director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and four-time Wash100 Award recipient has been appointed the eighth member of its advisory board. Cardillo will advise and counsel ASI as it deploys its satellite data relay network to serve the needs of the U.S. warfighter and intelligence professionals, as well as commercial end users.

“Robert's extensive experience as a geospatial intelligence and national security professional will prove invaluable to fulfill ASI's vision to enable the delivery of remotely sensed satellite data to U.S. government and commercial end users in near real time,“ said Dan Nevius, CEO of Analytical Space.

Nevius added, “Robert not only intimately understands the needs of the USIC and the priorities of each stakeholder in the intelligence cycle, but has spent his career employing space technology to promote transparency and prosperity around the globe, a vision that we share at ASI. The company will benefit immensely from his expertise and guidance. We are excited to welcome him as a key member of the ASI advisory board, “

Cardillo brings his 36 years of experience in the U.S. Intelligence Community, including impactful tenures of leadership at NGA, the Defense Intelligence Agency, and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence to ASI's advisory board. He will advise and counsel ASI as it deploys its satellite data relay network to serve the needs of the U.S. warfighter and intelligence professionals, as well as commercial end users.

“A resilient and secure commercial space communications architecture will be a critical enabler for U.S. space superiority as threats to the warfighter and intelligence professionals grow,“ said Cardillo. “Analytical Space's space borne data relay network technology is uniquely poised to secure that superiority and to enable GEOINT consumers to assuredly receive their data in near real time, even in the most challenging operational environments. I am excited to join ASI's advisory board as they deploy their data relay constellation over the coming years.“
