Leidos has opened a refurbished facility in Huntsville, Ala., that will serve as a centralized location for the company’s operations in support of the Missile Defense Agency, Hunstville Business Journal reported Monday. The 63,000-square foot physical systems and support center is located at Cummings Research Park and includes test equipment fitted with automated technology.

According to Gerry Fasano, president of Leidos’ defense group, the company offers support for a range of defense applications such as command, control, communications and computer-related operations.

“This new facility signifies our continued growth in Huntsville, but it also supports our customers in helping them solve problems from a city and a region known for its innovation,” he said during a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the center on Thursday.

Leidos allocated $3M to retrofit the facility.
