Science Applications International Corp. has received a $69.9M contract modification to produce Mk 48 Mod 7 torpedo parts for the U.S. Navy.

The company will provide afterbody/tailcone sections, auto-electrical power source test sets, spare parts and engineering services for the Mk 48, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.

Work will take place at locations in Indiana, Massachusetts and Rhode Island through March 2021.

The Navy will finance work via fiscal 2018 shipbuilding and conversion, fiscal 2019 weapons procurement, research, development, test and evaluation and foreign military sales funds.

Naval Sea Systems Command issued the modification that represents the third option year of an existing, potential $383M contract.
