Serco Group‘s North American division has received a potential five-year, $49.6M contract to update and repair an antenna component used on U.S. Navy submarines.

Herndon, Va.-based Serco Inc. will refurbish the Submarine High Data Rate Antenna Pedestal Group, maintain spare parts, engineer systems, provide fleet technical assistance and build test equipment, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

The Navy received one offer for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract via FedBizOpps and will initially obligate $1.9M in fiscal 2019 operation and maintenance funds at the time of award.

Eighty percent of work will occur in Ludlow, Mass., and the remaining 20 percent will take place in Newport, R.I.

DoD expects contract services to be completed by Sept. 24, 2024.
