DynCorp International announced on Tuesday that James Cassella has been promoted to be the company’s new chief growth officer. Cassella will focus on business development and corporate strategy to capitalize on the company’s growth.

Cassella joined DynCorp International in 2013. He has served the company in a range of executive leadership roles including senior vice president of corporate business development, senior vice president of business development for the DynAviation operating segment and vice president of corporate capture management and proposal development.

“Jim is perfect for this new position, given his proven leadership of business development and years of service at DI,” said George Krivo, DynCorp’s chief executive officer and a 2019 Wash100 Award recipient. “We are redoubling our efforts on both organic and inorganic growth and expect Jim to play a major role in our continued success,” he added.

Prior to joining DynCorp, Cassella served DRS Technologies (now Leonardo DRS) as vice president and Booz Allen Hamilton as an associate and lead for Joint and Army programs within the company’s strategic communications business.

In addition, Cassella, a career military officer, held assignments at the strategic, operational and tactical levels in multinational, interagency and joint operations, including two assignments at the Pentagon where he served as Department of Defense spokesman and advisor to the Secretary of Defense, Chief of Staff of the Army, and other top defense and service officials.

Cassella is a distinguished military graduate of The Citadel and has received a regular Army commission in aviation after graduating with a bachelor of arts degree in history. He also holds a master of military arts and science from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and was an honored graduate of the Defense Information School’s public affairs officers course.
