Shiv Iyer, a strategic asset management subject matter expert at Woolpert, has been named to serve as vice chair of a group associated with the International Organization for Standardization.
Iyer will vice-chair the U.S. Technical Advisory Group to the ISO Technical Committee, having been elected as for the role during a plenary meeting earlier this month, Woolpert said Tuesday.
U.S. TAG represents the country in working with other nations towards the goals of ISO Technical Committee 251, an organization focusing on the development of ISO 55000 standards.
These standards provide structural, requirements and practical guidance on asset management.
“Asset management provides the framework to view and evaluate the many different types of assets an organization manages at their various phases,†Iyer said.
