John Boule, a senior vice president at Dewberry and a retired U.S. Army colonel, has been appointed president at the Society of American Military Engineers' New York City chapter.
He has more than three decades of engineering experience in areas such as water resources, risk mitigation and infrastructure, Dewberry said Thursday. He oversees the professional services contractor's office in the city.
He served in the military from 1986 to 2012 and commanded U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' N.Y. District prior to his retirement. His USACE career included engineering work in multiple design and construction projects within N.Y., Greenland and New Jersey.
“I’m looking forward to continuing to contribute to greater community connectivity by being involved with other members in solving some of the nation’s most challenging infrastructure projects and initiatives," Boule said.
SAME is headquartered in Alexandria, Va., and aims to help address national security infrastructure challenges through collaboration.
