Aerojet Rocketdyne delivered its 20,000th rocket engine to Northrop Grumman as part of a strategic partnering agreement.

The MR-103G engine yields a thrust of 0.2 pounds and was produced at a facility in Redmond, Wash., Aerojet Rocketdyne said December.

Aerojet Rocketdyne noted that the firm has supported a variety of Northrop-built spacecraft systems such as the Mission Extension Vehicle, the NASA Dawn probe and the Cygnus spacecraft.

Ken Young, general manager of operations at Aerojet Rocketdyne's Redmond, Wash.-site, said the partnering agreement will extend towards the OmegA launch vehicle and future Northrop satellites.

Aerojet Rocketdyne has handed over 480 engines and achieved a delivery rate of 94.4 percent to date.
