Kevin Phillips: ManTech Focused on Speed, Innovation to Support Gov’t Customers

TYSONS CORNER, VA, March 2, 2020 — ManTech International (Nasdaq: MANT) has been eyeing a demand for digital transformation and cybersecurity offerings in the government as an opportunity to further grow contracting work, GovCon Wire reported Feb. 24.

The Washington Business Journal reported Feb 21 that Kevin Phillips, president and CEO of ManTech, said during the company’s fourth-quarter fiscal year 2019 earnings call he thinks the FY 2020 federal budget gave agencies certainty to procurement efforts.

“Customers are looking more for speed, they’re looking for innovation, and those are areas that we’ve been focused on because we generally view the global threat environment as driving different behaviors in the customer,” added Phillips, an inductee into the 2020 Wash100.

ManTech booked $2.9B in FY 2019 contract awards and noted that 50 percent of the total amount represent new business for the company. Full-year backlog reached more than $9B, up 9 percent from the prior year period.
