Census Bureau Taps Carahsoft for Qualtrics SaaS to Support COVID-19 Survey Effort - top government contractors - best government contracting event

The Department of Commerce has awarded Carahsoft Technology a one-year, $2M contract to provide Qualtrics cloud-based data management services to support the Census Bureau’s COVID-19 survey operations.

The bureau intends to use a subscription-based software-as-a-service platform that complies with Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program requirements and has the capacity for data processing, analysis and dissemination, according to a SAM notice posted Tuesday.

In a separate notice, the Census Bureau said its Demographic and Research and Methodology Directorates plan to use Qualtrics SaaS tools to conduct the Rapid Response Survey Study on the pandemic’s impact on businesses, policymakers and the general public throughout a 15-day period.

The bureau said it intended to sole-source the firm-fixed-price award to Carahsoft through the General Service Administration Information TechnologySchedule 70 contract vehicle.

Contract work is slated to conclude by April 14, 2021, but the performance period may be extended due to “uncertainty surrounding the duration and extent of the impact” of COVID-19, according to the notice.
