General Dynamics' land systems business conducted a test for a combat vehicle built to support the U.S. Army's Mobile Protected Firepower initiative, Defence Blog reported Saturday.

The vehicle will work to equip the Army's Infantry Brigade Combat Team with secure and direct offensive fire capacities within a wide range of terrains.

The service branch expects a 38-ton tracked armored vehicle that will house a 105-millimeter main gun and help warfighters engage in multidomain warfare through the MPF program.

Army Secretary and 2020 Wash100 winner Ryan McCarthy and Joseph Martin, vice chief of staff at the Army, witnessed the vehicle's demonstration during their visit at the company's facility in Detroit.
