MTSI, Vita Inclinata Technologies Explore Rapid Tethered Tech Deployment

Modern Technology Solutions Inc. and Vita Inclinata Technologies have collaborated to explore the integration of tethered technologies into the U.S. Air Force’s C-130 and C-17 aircraft systems.

MTSI said Friday it seeks to field the Rapid Aerial Employment System along with Vita Inclinata’s Hoist Rescue Load Stability System to help fixed-wing aircraft units deliver medical supplies and retrieve payloads within confined and urban areas.

The RAES is designed to help fixed-wing aircraft extract and deliver payloads at a high altitude while LSS works to control the motion of suspended cargo.

“This collaboration will allow for two-way cargo operations at distance and in the urban, maritime, and arctic regions once denied to our U.S. Air Force while saving time, money, assets and more importantly lives,” said Peter LeHew, co-inventor of RAES and a project lead at MTSI.

The two entities plan to deploy the combined platform in the fourth quarter of 2020.
