Raytheon Intelligence and Space, a Raytheon Technologies business, has partnered with commercial technology companies Red Hat and VMware to secure a $957 million contract under Cyber TRIDENT, the company reported on Wednesday.
“Raytheon’s Cyber TRIDENT team is challenging the status quo for how software is developed and delivered to military training systems,” said Bob Williams, vice president of Global Training Solutions at Raytheon Intelligence & Space, a Raytheon Technologies company. “The speed of change in cyber warfare dictates rapid and continuous delivery of new training, which Raytheon will accomplish with techniques such as DevOps.”
The contract has a projected award date in early 2021. Cyber TRIDENT is a critical training platform for the U.S. Military’s Cyber Mission Force. The awardee of Cyber TRIDENT will manage the Persistent Cyber Training Environment (PCTE) through which the military will train, rehearse missions and conduct realistic exercises from anywhere in the world.
Raytheon Intelligence and Space’s software development approaches have been proven on other Department of Defense (DoD) programs and will be integrated into the Cyber TRIDENT team. In addition, the company will utilize its best practices and automation tools from the commercial sector and will include small businesses and other innovative companies.
“Raytheon’s Cyber TRIDENT team will offer our proven end-to-end systems knowledge and cyber expertise with advanced tools, training and support,” said Williams. “The U.S Military’s Cyber Mission Force will be ready for anything.”
