General Dynamics’ Electric Boat subsidiary has secured a potential $60.6M contract to provide ship alteration support for submarine-launched ballistic missile systems of the U.S. and U.K. navies.

GDEB will help install Trident II Strategic Weapon System shipboard platforms under the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract from the Department of the Navy's Strategic Systems Programs office, the Department of Defense said Monday.

The Trident II SWS is built for submarines of the U.S.' Ohio class and the U.K.'s Vanguard class.

DoD noted that both countries will obligate a total of $22.3M at the time of award and the department expects work to conclude in April 2024. The sole-source contract includes two option years.
