TYSONS CORNER, VA, May 19, 2020 — Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) has teamed up with Vertex Aerospace and Paramount Group’s U.S. subsidiary in a joint bid to provide multimission aircraft to the Special Operations Command, ExecutiveGov reported May 4.

The Leidos-led industry team plans to offer a purpose-built Bronco II aircraft platform for SOCOM's Armed Overwatch contract and manufacture the vehicle at a facility in Crestview, Fla., the company said May 4.

Gerry Fasano, president of Leidos’ defense group and a 2020 Wash100 winner, said the company seeks to demonstrate its agility in supporting national security missions through the Bronco II offering.

SOCOM released a notice in February to inform vendors of its plan to buy 75 fixed-wing aircraft for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, strike and close air support operations.
