Qualys has rolled out a technology built to help federal customers secure remote computing systems and applications.

The company said Tuesday it offers the remote endpoint protection product for government use without charge through a 60-day pilot program.

The offering is designed for customer agencies to monitor vulnerabilities, malicious threats or misconfigurations that affect operating systems and apps.

According to Qualys, the security technology features remote patching, malware detection, real-time monitoring and visibility across all active endpoint software and hardware remotely linked to an agency's system, while maintaining virtual private network bandwidth and protecting telework endpoints.

The company added its platform supports security features on Microsoft Windows 7 or higher OS versions.

"We're proud to partner with Qualys to provide federal agencies with the security solutions they need as they migrate to the cloud," said Steve Jacyna, director of Carahsoft Technology's Qualys team.

Carahsoft resells information technology products via government contract vehicles.
