A CAE subsidiary has secured an other transaction agreement to create a synthetic environment prototype for a program aimed at increasing U.S. Special Operations Command situational awareness.
The award comes after SOCOM solicited ideas from industry for how to incorporate commercial software into deployable mission support systems.
Ray Duquette, president and general manager of CAE USA, said the company will apply its simulation and modeling experience in efforts to develop a synthetic representation of real-world settings for defense planning and operational use.
“Synthetic environments can be a powerful tool for course of action analysis and decision making that can help enhance readiness, interoperability and shared situational awareness between collective, joint and coalition forces,” Duquette added.
The MSI organization also received a contract from the combatant command last year to build a database of open geospatial data.
