BlackBerry has integrated the AtHoc critical event management technology with Microsoft's communication and collaboration platform to support the virtual workforce.

"This new capability to manage the incident response process through Teams will streamline communications and give greater visibility over the recovery progress of an unfolding event,” said David Wiseman, vice president of secure communications at BlackBerry.

BlackBerry’s AtHoc integration will ensure that organizations that leverage Microsoft Teams are able to contact, alert and account for the workforce directly through the platform in case of a threat. BlackBerry AtHoc combats against risks, ranging from service degradation to natural disasters and industrial accidents.

The company’s platform has mitigated operational disruption when an incident occurs and has provided visibility to ensure critical business operations are not affected. Teams has enabled users to rapidly contact specific users or groups through AtHoc.

Microsoft’s platform has delivered unified and end-to-end communications to enable incident response teams to notify of incidents and establish a dialogue that provides further information.

"BlackBerry AtHoc integrations with Microsoft Teams are important for our mutual customers," said Mike Ammerlaan, director of Microsoft 365 ecosystem marketing at Microsoft. "Providing business continuity assurance is a priority and this integration delivers an enhanced tool for ongoing, secure communications."
