The State Department is conducting market research into commercial tools intended to discover potential risks across a supply chain and incorporate proprietary data from the government.

According to a request for information posted Monday, the department wants to better understand its global network of suppliers, predict change risks and mitigate threats.

DOS is looking for a platform that can help personnel monitor the production flow of information technology equipment, software internet of things devices that support its global operations.

The department also intends for a potential SCRM system to facilitate coordination with the intelligence community to stay up to date with current events and continuous monitoring of vendors.

Responses to the RFI notice are due Oct. 23.
