McKean Gets $70M Navy Contract for CANES Engineering Support

McKean Defense Group has secured a five-year, $69.8M contract to deliver engineering services for the U.S. Navy's tactical networks.

The company said Wednesday it will address the programmatic and technical requirements across communications, networking, certification, information assurance and computer systems of the Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services.

The contract provides for work to support ongoing operations, planned updates and future developments of CANES' tactical networks. 

McKean will design architectures, engineer systems, support scientific pursuits, develop applications and networks, document engineering efforts and perform logistics work under the contract. The company will also cybersecure CANES' systems and support testing activities.

Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific awarded the contract.
