ViaSat has secured a potential $50.8M indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to help the Air Force Research Laboratory build and demonstrate prototype space systems.

The Carlsbad, California-based company will also test network space segment components with ground infrastructure as part of risk reduction and assessment efforts, the Department of Department said Friday.

Contract work will also involve program and configuration management, system engineering and certification support.

AFRL is obligating $737.6K on the first task order and expects the satellite communications firm to complete services under the IDIQ by Feb. 20, 2026.
