The new capital will fund production of SmartPower— an Epirus technology designed to facilitate HPM transmission with the use of gallium nitride semiconductors– the company said Thursday.
L3Harris Technologies, 8VC, Fathom VC, Greenspring Associates and Piedmont Capital Investments were the other investors that took part in the new round of funding.
A Series A funding round last year brought in $17M for Epirus. The company noted it aims to commercialize the Leonidas C-UAS platform early next year.
The venture-backed startup also partnered with L3Harris to explore approaches for increasing power efficiency in the companies' systems and entered into a supplier deal to provide electromagnetic pulse technology for Northrop Grumman's counter-unmanned aerial system offering.
