Andrew Nebus, director of digital strategy at ASRC Federal, has said that an effective cloud strategy requires understanding organizational needs, implementing technologies with the capacity to evolve, eliminating data silos and improving customer experience.

Nebus wrote in an opinion piece published Tuesday on Nextgov that organizations need to have the right mindset and implement technologies best suited to address specific mission objectives.

Agencies should also move beyond legacy systems and adopt modular cloud architectures that can be updated over time, he said.

In addition, Nebus noted that cloud technologies could help agencies establish self-service data pipelines for smaller projects. Cloud can also support artificial intelligence scaling efforts and transform customer engagement as well as cybersecurity monitoring, he said.

“Reimagining the future of cloud with these strategies can address top-of-mind needs and unlock other future benefits,” added Nebus. “By doing this, digital journeys will meet business needs and support new ways of delivering to agency missions.”
