MSBAI to Adapt AI Tech for USAF, MDA Hypersonic Threat Trajectory Simulation - top government contractors - best government contracting event

MSBAI has received a Phase 2 contract under the U.S. Air Force's Small Business Innovation Research initiative to repurpose a cognitive artificial intelligence assistant for the service branch and the Missile Defense Agency to run hypersonic weapon trajectory simulation software from Science Applications International Corp.

Los Angeles-based MSBAI said it will adapt the GURU interface to help engineers simulate threat trajectories in minutes with SAIC's AVATAR software.

Jim Hyatt, senior director of missile defense programs at SAIC, said the partnership with MSBAI will add AI capability to the AVATAR, 6-dof missile simulation. "Government users will now be able to digitally develop optimal defense architectures by running millions of emerging threat scenarios before investing in hardware."

The cognitive AI assistant is also expected to help unspecialized users capitalize on the supercomputing facility at the Air Force Research Laboratory's Department of Defense Supercomputing Resource Center.

"Lowering the initial training barrier will be critical for the Air Force using supercomputing to rapidly create solutions," said Bryon Foster, director of DSRC.

MSBAI participated in the Air Force-Techstars accelerated program last year.
