ManTech’s Sandeep Shilawat Shares Key Considerations as Agencies Factor Cloud Into Digital Transformation Efforts
Sandeep Shilawat VP ManTech

Sandeep Shilawat, vice president for cloud and edge computing at ManTech International, wrote in an article published Tuesday that agencies should consider cloud as foundational to their digital transformation efforts.

One of the first elements to consider as agencies factor cloud into their digital modernization plans is determining the cloud consumption model to ensure that they have the talent and other resources in place to support cloud efforts, he said.

Shilawat called on digital transformation managers to know how their agencies plan to use the cloud.

“They need to understand where in the organization they expect cloud use cases to proliferate and where they expect to be more dependent on software-as-a-service tools. Understanding where and for what purpose cloud installations are being used is critical,“ he added.

Shilawat said agencies should also consider having a migration plan that includes key milestones, dependencies and mitigation measures, determine potential obstacles to cloud initiatives and ensure that they “have the right mix of talent“ to manage cloud implementation.
