TYSONS CORNER, VA, March 16, 2021 — Rick Ambrose, exeuctive vice president of Lockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) space business, said his team secured a contract to manufacture its first commercial “space domain awareness” payload for a host spacecraft intended for geosynchronous Earth orbit, GovCon Wire reported Wednesday.

Ambrose, a 2021 Wash100 Award recipient, wrote in a LinkedIn post the company will build the payload with optical sensors that are designed to detect and capture imagery of space objects.
