SAIC Awarded $120M Navy Torpedo Fuel Tank Production Contract; Josh Jackson Quoted

TYSONS CORNER, VA, March 4, 2021 — Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) will build and test fuel storage for the U.S. Navy's MK48 heavyweight torpedo system under a $120 million prime contract with a base performance period of 18 months, GovCon Wire reported Feb. 24.

SAIC said it will support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Keyport, Washington, in addressing torpedo fuel tank production, test and delivery requirements of the Navy and customers under the foreign military sales program.

Josh Jackson, senior vice president of the naval business unit within SAIC's defense and civilian sector, said the company will work on the MK48 platform over the next five years.
