CAE's U.S. business arm has secured a contract of an undisclosed sum from the U.S. Air Force to provide and manage the military pilot training activities of 14 Irish Air Corps students over an 18-month period.

The initial phase of the pilot training program will be overseen by CAE USA subcontractor SkyWarrior Flight Training and will be conducted in Pensacola, Florida, while the succeeding phase will occur at CAE's Dothan Training Center in Alabama, the company said Monday.

In phase 2, the students will receive academic classes and perform practice flights aboard CAE's Sprint Virtual Reality training device.

The trainees will undergo proficiency tests via the high-fidelity flight training device and carry out live flights aboard CAE-owned Grob G120TP units.

CAE's Dothan Training Center is established to support flight training activities for the U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force. The company received a contract in February to provide training services to pilots from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
