Intelligent Business Automation works to support the agency's Pilot IRS Program by adding telecommunications security language in select federal contracts to ensure information technology integrity, ASI said Tuesday.
The tool used AI, machine learning, natural language processing and robotic process automation approaches and algorithms to modify almost 1,500 contracts and upload those modifications into a file repository.
It was estimated that the manual effort would take one and a half years. However, the company completed the task in three days using its automation tool.
Intelligent Business Automation further supported IRS' contracting officers and CO representatives by informing vendors of the modifications, providing a record for audit and eliminating data inaccuracies.
IRS Chief Procurement Officer Shanna Webbers said processes can be more efficient by "driving innovation and managing risk" as demonstrated by the automation tool.
In September 2019, ASI provided the agency with an automated system for reviewing, evaluating and correcting data to ensure its quality ahead of procurement audits.
