Stantec has received a five-year, $60 million contract from the U.S. Navy for architect‐engineer services in support of waterfront projects at naval facilities within the north area of responsibility of Naval Facilities Engineering Command Mid-Atlantic.

The company said Tuesday it will lead construction, design, planning and renovation activities at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine, and other locations as part of the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.

Waterfront-related utilities, coastal and shoreline protection and dredging are some of the waterfront project types covered by the IDIQ. Work at naval facilities in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania and Delaware could also include storm water management and civil engineering studies.

Stantec has been working with NAVFAC and the Department of Defense for over six decades. The latest contract if the fourth consecutive waterfront IDIQ between NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic and the company.

"Over the past 10 years, our team has helped deliver over 40 mission-critical projects, including work to advance the Navy’s Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program," said Chris Williams, senior vice president for Stantec’s U.S. federal program.
