VSE Secures Defense, Government Contracts for Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul Services
VSE

VSE announced Tuesday that it secured approximately $37.5 million in combined new contract awards from the U.S. Air Force and a U.S. government foreign ally. The maintenance and repair work under both contracts is expected to begin during the second quarter of the year.

“These contract awards reflect the continued execution of our Federal & Defense Services’ vehicle and aviation [maintenance, repair and overhaul] strategy introduced last year, one that emphasizes multi-year growth in higher-margin segment backlog,” SAID John Cuomo, president and CEO of VSE.

“We continue to pursue new niche MRO opportunities with U.S. and allied foreign militaries as we leverage our technical expertise and proven project management capabilities,” he added.

The contract with the Air Force is a three-year task order under its Contract Field Teams (CFT) program. VSE will provide corrosion control treatment, prevention and repair maintenance on the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft as stipulated within the task order. The contract also requires VSE to support the VAW-120 Fleet Replacement Squadron attached to the Airborne Command and Control and Logistics Wing at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia.

The other contract will require the company to provide MRO services for more than one hundred Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles and FMTV companion trailers for a U.S. government foreign ally for one year.

“We remain focused on growing our MRO capabilities through a combination of both organic and inorganic growth, while pursuing less commoditized, higher-margin opportunities,” said Robert Moore, president of VSE's Federal & Defense Services Group
