The U.S. Coast Guard will continue to use Palantir-made data management and analytics software for another nine months under a potential $11.25 million contract renewal.

Palantir said Thursday it has provided the military service access to the company's technology over the past year to help the branch manage resource data amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

USCG intends to extend software use in efforts to monitor the distribution of vaccines across the service, plan logistical operations and track inventory.

"We look forward to continuing to provide the Coast Guard with the very best technology to help them ensure our Nation's maritime safety and security,” said Doug Philippone, lead for Palantir's global defense business.

The new contract's base value is $6.25 million.
