Cognosante was tasked with the implementation and maintenance of a cloud-hosted electronic faxing service at the Department of Veterans Affairs as part of a $110 million award under the Transformation Twenty-One Total Technology Next Generation acquisition vehicle.

The company said Tuesday having Enterprise Cloud Fax services across the VA is aimed at enhancing the department’s service quality through streamlined fax capabilities.

Commenting on the recent task order, Erick Peters, chief technology officer, noted that VA employs cloud-based technologies to modernize its services and that the company’s engineering, development and operations teams work to support its efforts.

Cognosante will support the commercial-off-the-shelf ECFax offering over a potential 10-year period.

Philip Dietz, general manager of the military and veterans health business unit at Cognosante, said veterans could use ECFax to submit sensitive documents to VA for processing.

“We are thrilled to be working with VA as it addresses one of the major challenges Veterans face when accessing their benefits,” he added.
