Michael Buscher, former chief growth officer at Bigbear.ai, has started a new role as chief strategy officer of unmanned aerial vehicle manufacturing company UAV Factory, according to his LinkedIn post Monday.

He will help lead UAV Factory through its business combination with Jennings Aeronautics. Both companies are backed by private equity firm AE Industrial Partners.

“It’s truly exciting to be part of an organization committed to innovation and possessing a vision for how unmanned technology can improve our world,” Buscher told ExecutiveBiz on his recent appointment.

Buscher has served on UAV Factory’s board of directors since January. In his previous role with BigBear.ai, he was responsible for organic and inorganic growth initiatives across the intelligence community, defense and commercial markets.

He previously worked as vice president of intelligence and special operations at Peraton, VP and National Intelligence Center director at Huntington Ingalls Industries and CEO at Vanguard Defense Industries.

His three-decade government service includes time as special operations officer in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves and a senior operations officer at the CIA.

Currently, Buscher sits on the board of advisers for Fortem Technologies and the advisory council for the George Washington University School of Business.
