BAE Systems‘ land and armaments systems business will manufacture and deliver additional amphibious combat vehicles to the U.S. Marine Corps under a $173.6 million modification to an existing contract with the service branch.

The award exercises options for 36 full-rate production vehicles and raises the contract’s total cumulative value to $1.73 billion, the Department of Defense said Friday.

The modification also provides for costs associated with production, support and fielding activities.

Sixty percent of work under the modification will take place in York, Pennsylvania, and the remaining percentage will be conducted in South Carolina, Michigan, Virginia and California, through March 2024.

Marine Corps Systems Command issued the new award, which uses procurement funds allotted for fiscal year 2022.
