DISA CTO Stephen Wallace to Headline ExecutiveBiz Forum on AI Applications for Cybersecurity & National Security - top government contractors - best government contracting event

The Defense Information Systems Agency’s chief technology officer will deliver a keynote address to ExecutiveBiz’s upcoming event to discuss how artificial intelligence can help government and industry defend against cybersecurity threats.

Stephen Wallace, who has served as DISA CTO since October 2021, concurrently serves as director of emerging technology at the agency. Wallace came to DISA in 2011 from Computer Sciences Corp. where he worked with federal government customers to develop enterprise-class collaboration, identity management and authentication systems.

DISA is exploring approaches to strengthen its information environment operations security without compromising user experience as part of the agency’s three-year Strategic Plan and is looking to adopt emerging technology such as AI to update cyber defenses.

At the Department of Defense, most AI capabilities designed to support the warfighter mission are in the development phase, according to a Feb. 17 report from the Government Accountability Office. The government audit agency noted that DOD believes infrastructure and people are key to the development, procurement and expansion of AI technology for the U.S. military’s weapons systems.

Wallace’s keynote speech at the “Applying AI to Data for Cyber Hygiene and National Security” forum will be followed by panelists to discuss the AI/ML applications for threat detection and incident response.

Executives invited to join the panel discussion include NT Concepts CTO Chris Powell and Deepinder Uppal, chief innovation and technology officer of TIBCO Software’s public sector business.

The “Applying AI to Data for Cyber Hygiene and National Security” forum is scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 10 at 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church, Virginia.
