A ‘Good Scout’ Makes a Great Leader: Jack London

A 'Good Scout' Makes a Great Leader: Jack London - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Jack London, a 49-year CACI International veteran who was the company’s CEO for 23 years until 2007 and its executive chairman from 2007 until his death in January 2021, was the recipient of the 2004 Technology Good Scout Award from the National Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

London had been widely regarded as the “face” of CACI and led its transformation in the 1990s from being a professional services consulting company to a global provider of IT and communications offerings.

His status as one of the most influential leaders in the government contracting industry earned him a spot on the Wash100 list for two consecutive years, with his inductions having taken place in 2014 and 2015.

In a January 2015 guest post on ExecutiveBiz, London cited character as a critical factor for the success of both individuals and organizations.

“At both an individual and an organizational level, we need a committed and sustained effort to make a change and to keep a strong emphasis on doing the right thing. We need to reestablish an unshakable focus on the values of honesty, trust, integrity and accountability.”

ExecutiveBiz featured Jack London as part of Executive Mosaic media group’s coverage of Good Scouts who were recognized for their contributions to the tech sector and demonstration of scouting values.
