Sophos' Rob Lalumondier on Government Cybersecurity Policies, Employee Productivity - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Rob Lalumondier, vice president of federal at Sophos, shared his thoughts on President Joe Biden’s cybersecurity executive order and how the policy advances the adoption of technologies including multifactor authentication and zero trust infrastructure at agencies.

In addition, we’re also seeing the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that has been widely discussed and the much needed billion dollars of funding that are going out to state and local governments to help us secure our nation’s infrastructure going forward,” Lalumondier told FedScoop in a video interview posted Friday.

He expressed his views on how the company uses technology to help government agencies improve the delivery of citizen services and enhance employee productivity.

Apart from the remote-first work strategy, Lalumondier said the company focuses on “technology, management and culture” to further enhance employee productivity.

On the technology front, we’re making sure that our employees have secure access to the tools and data when they need it, where they need it in a secure way. On the management front, we’re going out and training our managers on how do you more deeply engage with your employees and get them excited about their work,” Lalumondier said.

When it comes to culture, organizations should consider how to “provide that balance for your employees, how do you get them to have high personal accountability but also leave them room to take care of the things that they need to do in their personal lives,” he added.
