Stephen Fogarty, a retired lieutenant general who formerly led the U.S. Army Cyber Command, has joined Booz Allen Hamilton to serve as a senior executive adviser and help drive growth of the company’s national cyber capabilities.

In this role, Fogarty will leverage his experience with cyber, intelligence and information technology to assist in the oversight of the development of threat-informed defensive and offensive cyber strategies, the McLean, Virginia-based firm said Monday.

“To our adversaries, the cyber ecosystem is one connected battlespace, putting U.S. government and private infrastructure at risk,” said Brad Medairy, executive vice president and head of Booz Allen’s national cyber sector. “In this increasingly connected environment, Stephen’s expertise will be invaluable as we expand our National Cyber capabilities in support of our nation’s most critical missions.”

Fogarty carries nearly four decades of active duty leadership expertise. Most recently, he served as ARCYBER commanding general responsible for leading complex defensive cyber and information warfare operations across the globe.

While in this position, he oversaw a skilled workforce of over 16,000 soldiers, Department of the Army civilians and contractors working with a variety of mission partners. His team executed IT operations for 1.1 million soldiers and civilians at nearly 200 bases while facilitating constant defensive and offensive cyber information warfare operations worldwide.

“Throughout my career, one constant theme is that the evolving cyber and defense landscape has proven the necessity for collaboration,” Fogarty commented.

Across his numerous military leadership positions, Fogarty spearheaded Army and Joint cyber, intelligence and communications operations, which included commanding the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command and the Cyber Center of Excellence, as well as serving as chief of staff for the Cyber Command.

During his time in these positions, he trained, equipped, deployed and supported soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, Department of Defense civilians, contractors and international mission partners in carrying out complex cyber, communications and intelligence operations worldwide.

“I’m excited to join Booz Allen given the firm’s unique approach, using a comprehensive view of the cyber landscape and intelligence-grade tradecraft to unlock stronger defensive solutions and deploy full-spectrum cyber capabilities with confidence and precision,” Fogarty stated.
